12 March 2020. The situation with the coronavirus is changing on an hourly basis. We are not journalists (fortunately) to provide immediate updates, nevertheless, we will try to keep you updated about the luxury outbound travel market from Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan on a regular basis.
Last week Onlink Services conducted a poll among Luxury Travel Professionals in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan & CIS about booking cancellations. Agencies and operators reported a new wave of cancellations to Italy, Europe & Asia.
The first wave of cancellations started 3-5 weeks ago to Asia (China, Vietnam, Thailand...etc) (Click here to view Linkedin video update end of Feb)
Most of the cancellations are for March and April (in decreasing order). Over 300 agencies participated in the poll.

Many mentioned that travelers are concerned about the possible 2 weeks quarantine upon return as per the newly appointed Russian government decree.
While some travelers are canceling their trips for March-April, some prefer to book ahead for May onwards, taking advantage of deals that hotels and airlines are providing. However, all travelers are asking for a flexible cancellation policy since the situation is constantly changing. Whereas, others are on a wait and see mode.
